Senior Research Director, Sampling, Psychometrics, and Data Analysis
Pierre has been working on the TIMSS and PIRLS assessments since 1992. For the past 10 years, he has been responsible for psychometric scaling of the TIMSS and PIRLS assessments, overseeing all sampling activities, and managing the production of statistical results for publication in the TIMSS and PIRLS international reports.
Prior to officially joining the center, Pierre worked at the IEA Data Processing and Research Center, where he launched its sampling unit, and also at Statistics Canada, where he served as a survey methodologist and sampling consultant for the early TIMSS and PIRLS assessments. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics and statistics at the Université Laval in Québec City.
