Matthew Lowe
Research Specialist, Psychometrics and Machine Learning Applications

Matthew Lowe is a member of the data analysis team and focuses on utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for automated scoring in international large-scale assessments. He also conducts psychometric analysis for TIMSS & PIRLS test items to determine and evaluate qualities such as construct validity and reliability.

Matthew holds an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics and Psychometrics from Boston College. Prior to joining the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center, he held positions at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard as part of their COVID diagnostics and protein sequencing teams.
