Ruthanne has contributed to the production of TIMSS and PIRLS assessment materials since 2006, including item development and illustration, test booklet layout, report design and production, and cover design. She also has contributed to the assembly of training and scoring materials for test administrators. She developed the graphic identity for the TIMSS and PIRLS 2011 report publications, and also for the TIMSS and TIMSS Advanced 2015 and PIRLS 2016 reports. Before joining the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center, Ruthanne worked as a graphic designer for several publishing companies and as a freelance designer. She majored in fine arts at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and received a Graphic Design Certificate from Massachusetts College of Art.
